junūb o mashriq o maġhrib tire shumāl tirā
maiñ kyā karūñ mire chāroñ taraf hai jaal tirā
jahān-e-sañg-sifat se ye kaisī ummīdeñ
karegā kaun yahāñ aa.ine malāl tirā
ye log jaane kidhar se javāb le aa.e
chhupāyā ḳhud se bhī maiñ ne har ik savāl tirā
junub o mashriq o maghrib tere shumal tera
main kya karun mere chaaron taraf hai jal tera
jahan-e-sang-sifat se ye kaisi ummiden
karega kaun yahan aaine malal tera
ye log jaane kidhar se jawab le aae
