kahan se laun main fikr-e-wasia-o-la-mahdud
kahāñ se lā.ūñ maiñ fikr-e-vasī.a-o-lā-mahdūd
asīr-e-dām-e-ta.ayyun hai kā.enāt-e-vajūd
balā-e-jāñ haiñ yahī kasrateñ aqīdat kī
had-e-niyāz hī bantī hai ka.aba-e-maqsūd
mire hī shauq-e-farāvāñ ne gum kiyā mujh ko
har ek gaam pe thī varna manzil-e-maqsūd
latāfat-e-ġham-e-jānāñ kā hogā kyā ehsās
hazār-hā haiñ zamāne meñ jab ki dām-o-quyūd
uThā sakegā na parda haqīqatoñ kā kabhī
jo ho gayā hai asīr-e-tilism-e-rang-e-shuhūd
hai zarra-zarra se paidā tajalliyoñ kā faroġh
magar hai husn-e-ḳhud-ārā ko phir bhī zauq-e-numūd
na khul sakegā mazāhir-parastiyoñ kā fareb
ye husn kyā hai agar tū nahīñ hai ḳhud maujūd
maiñ jāntā huuñ vahī zindagī kā hāsil haiñ
huiiñ jo rāh-e-mohabbat meñ koshisheñ be-sūd
basī huī hai mohabbat kī in meñ ik duniyā
na miT sakeñge zamāne se naqsh-hā-e-sujūd
kuchh aur baḌhtīñ masarrat kī talḳhiyāñ 'sāqib'
agar na hotā zamāne meñ ranj-o-ġham kā vajūd
kahan se laun main fikr-e-wasia-o-la-mahdud
asir-e-dam-e-tayyun hai kaenat-e-wajud
bala-e-jaan hain yahi kasraten aqidat ki
had-e-niyaz hi banti hai kaba-e-maqsud
mere hi shauq-e-farawan ne gum kiya mujh ko
har ek gam pe thi warna manzil-e-maqsud
latafat-e-gham-e-jaanan ka hoga kya ehsas
hazar-ha hain zamane mein jab ki dam-o-quyud
uTha sakega na parda haqiqaton ka kabhi
jo ho gaya hai asir-e-tilism-e-rang-e-shuhud
hai zarra-zarra se paida tajalliyon ka farogh
magar hai husn-e-KHud-ara ko phir bhi zauq-e-numud
na khul sakega mazahir-parastiyon ka fareb
ye husn kya hai agar tu nahin hai KHud maujud
main jaanta hun wahi zindagi ka hasil hain
huin jo rah-e-mohabbat mein koshishen be-sud
basi hui hai mohabbat ki in mein ek duniya
na miT sakenge zamane se naqsh-ha-e-sujud
kuchh aur baDhtin masarrat ki talKHiyan 'saqib'
agar na hota zamane mein ranj-o-gham ka wajud
