kyā kare qaidī-e-zindān-e-ḳhayāl
tāb-e-āvāz-e-salāsil na rahī
jab tirī yaad ne ghar chhoḌ diyā
justujū kī koī manzil na rahī
bujh gayā shahr ga.e raat ke log
ik ramaq thī sar-e-mahfil na rahī
ham tire saath rahe paas rahe
terī qurbat hameñ hāsil na rahī
ab tirā ġham bhī tujhe sauñp diyā
ab koī baat bhī mushkil na rahī
ab tirī yaad meñ jī lagtā hai
zindagī jab kisī qābil na rahī

jab teri yaad ne ghar chhoD diya
justuju ki koi manzil na rahi
bujh gaya shahr gae raat ke log

hum tere sath rahe pas rahe
teri qurbat hamein hasil na rahi
ab tera gham bhi tujhe saunp diya
ab koi baat bhi mushkil na rahi
ab teri yaad mein ji lagta hai
zindagi jab kisi qabil na rahi
