peḌ jañgal se bahut duur ugā thā logo
laakh mushkil ho mirā haath sambhāle rakhnā
dar se dīvār ne kal raat kahā thā logo
din kī āġhosh meñ sūraj kā sulagtā huā tan
shaam hote hī samundar meñ girā thā logo
dekh kar mujh ko akelā mirī dil-jūī ko
saaya dīvār se kuchh duur haTā thā logo
kaasa darvesh kā aahoñ se bharā dekhā hai
aaj lañgar pe bhī kyā dard baTā thā logo
