kyoñ vo merā markaz-e-afkār thā
jis ke hone se mujhe inkār thā
yuuñ to mushkil thī bahut terī talāsh
ḳhud ko apnā aur bhī dushvār thā
us ke hisse meñ dar-o-dīvār the
merā hissa sāya-e-dīvār thā
rafta rafta sab ke jaisā ho gayā
pahle maiñ bhī sāhab-e-kirdār thā
dūriyoñ ne qurbateñ baḳhshīñ hameñ
milnā-julnā bā.is-e-takrār thā
kaise baḌhtā qāfila aage 'faroġh'
har koī jab qāfila-sālār thā
kyon wo mera markaz-e-afkar tha

KHud ko apna aur bhi dushwar tha
us ke hisse mein dar-o-diwar the
mera hissa saya-e-diwar tha
rafta rafta sab ke jaisa ho gaya
pahle main bhi sahab-e-kirdar tha
duriyon ne qurbaten baKHshin hamein
milna-julna bais-e-takrar tha
kaise baDhta qafila aage 'farogh'
har koi jab qafila-salar tha
