lutf kyā aa.egā sharāfat meñ
aap ab aa ga.e siyāsat meñ
thī jo masrūfiyat hameñ thoḌī
aap bhī kab the yaar fursat meñ
phir se tārīḳh mil ga.ī aglī
aaj bhī ye huā 'adālat meñ
aap pūchheñ na to hī behtar hai
kitne dhoke mile sharāfat meñ
ho ga.ī maut sunte haiñ kal bhī
ek mā'sūm kī hirāsat meñ
ho gayā guftugū se andāza
kaun rahtā hai kaisī sohbat meñ
