apnī qismat kī kahānī bādbāñ par chhoḌ dī
manziloñ ko dekhte hī be-muravvat shaḳhs ne
rāste kī gard puure kārvāñ par chhoḌ dī
be-makāñ hote hue ik maslahat-andesh ne
apne dil kī har tamannā lā-makāñ par chhoḌ dī
bādaloñ ko bijliyoñ se mastiyoñ meñ dekh kar
ik duā mahsūr kar ke āsmāñ par chhoḌ dī
luT gayā jab kārvāñ to 'nāz' phir sālār ne
qāfile kī rahbarī bhī sārbāñ par chhoḌ dī
