jahāñ pe maut hai terī usī maqām pe chal
ye iltimās-e-naqāhat hai ghar meñ kar ārām
zarūratoñ kā taqāza hai pahle kaam pe chal
ubal paḌeñge mai-e-nāb ke ka.ī chashme
barahna-pā tū kisī din shikasta-jām pe chal
purāne vaqt kī qadroñ ko bhuul jā 'rāshid'
jadīd daur ke badle hue nizām pe chal

purane waqt ki qadron ko bhul ja 'rashid'
jadid daur ke badle hue nizam pe chal
