nigah-e-shauq kyun mail nahin hai
nigāh-e-shauq kyuuñ maa.il nahīñ hai
koī dīvār ab haa.il nahīñ hai
sahar-dam hī gharoñ se chal paḌe sab
koī jaada koī manzil nahīñ hai
sabhī kī nazreñ haiñ kashtī ke ruḳh par
magar is bahr kā sāhil nahīñ hai
kareñ kis se tavaqqo munsifī kī
koī aisā hai jo qātil nahīñ hai
nigah-e-shauq kyun mail nahin hai
koi diwar ab hail nahin hai
sahar-dam hi gharon se chal paDe sab
