poshak-e-mohabbat thi phaTi humne wo si di
poshāk-e-mohabbat thī phaTī ham ne vo sī dī
ehsās kī nagrī meñ khilā rañg-e-shahīdī
kis jabr kā narġha hai madīne kī riyāsat
ḳhāmosh hai kyoñ kyā hai koī ahd-e-yazīdī
ham girya ke phūloñ se girā Dāleñge ik din
dīvār ke pīchhe bhī hai dīvār-e-hadīdī
tum apne tasavvur se banāte ho jo misre
ye ham ne diye tum ko ḳhayālāt jadīdī
ye apnā tayaqqun thā ki mil jā.egī 'manzar'
sayyad the so bhūle se bhī duniyā na ḳharīdī
