rahi taraf-e-mulk-e-adam hoi chuka tha
raahī taraf-e-mulk-e-adam hoī chukā thā
tū aa gayā maiñ varna sanam hoī chukā thā
biThlātī nazākat na ise gar dam-e-raftār
pāmāl ye dil zer-e-qadam hoī chukā thā
sargarm-e-suḳhan mujh se jo vo aa ke na hotā
ThanDā maiñ tah-e-teġh-e-sitam hoī chukā thā
dekhā but-e-nau-ḳhat ne jo mujh ko to kiyā chaak
naama to raqīboñ ko raqam hoī chukā thā
vo jiit ga.e pāñsa-e-taqdīr se 'tanvīr'
paas un ke to ek ek diram hoī chukā thā

ThanDa main tah-e-tegh-e-sitam hoi chuka tha
dekha but-e-nau-KHat ne jo mujh ko to kiya chaak
nama to raqibon ko raqam hoi chuka tha
wo jit gae pansa-e-taqdir se 'tanwir'
pas un ke to ek ek diram hoi chuka tha
