سب کو معلوم ہے یہ بات کہاں
سب کو معلوم ہے یہ بات کہاں
دن کہاں کاٹتا ہوں رات کہاں
اس کو تقدیر ہی کہا جائے
میں کہاں ان کا التفات کہاں
جن کے آگے زباں بھی ہل نہ سکے
کہنے بیٹھا ہوں دل کی بات کہاں
سوچ سکتا ہوں کہہ نہیں سکتا
لٹ گئی دل کی کائنات کہاں
اے صبا ان کی کاکلوں کو نہ چھیڑ
منہ چھپاتی پھرے گی رات کہاں
وہ تو آنسو نکل پڑے ورنہ
میں کہاں شرح واقعات کہاں
ان کو احساس ہو چلا ہے رئیسؔ
وہ نظر وہ ہنسی وہ بات کہاں
