bas ek vahī ahd-e-vafā yaad nahīñ hai
ik tū hai ki ab yaad bhī kartā nahīñ mujh ko
ik maiñ huuñ ki kuchh tere sivā yaad nahīñ hai
din-rāt bahāroñ kī duā māñgne vaalo
kyā pichhlī bahāroñ kā mazā yaad nahīñ hai
kyoñ dār-o-rasan dekh ke dil bujh gayā 'qāsid'
kyā maqsad-e-arbāb-e-vafā yaad nahīñ hai
sab kuchh to use yaad hai kya yaad nahin hai
bas ek wahi ahd-e-wafa yaad nahin hai
ek tu hai ki ab yaad bhi karta nahin mujh ko
ek main hun ki kuchh tere siwa yaad nahin hai
din-raat bahaaron ki dua mangne walo
kya pichhli bahaaron ka maza yaad nahin hai
kyon dar-o-rasan dekh ke dil bujh gaya 'qasid'
kya maqsad-e-arbab-e-wafa yaad nahin hai
