شب بھر رواں رہی گل مہتاب کی مہک
پو پھوٹتے ہی خشک ہوا چشمۂ فلک
موج ہوا سے کانپ گیا روح کا چراغ
سیل صدا میں ڈوب گئی یاد کی دھنک
پھر جا رکے گی بجھتے خرابوں کے دیس میں
سونی سلگتی سوچتی سنسان سی سڑک
رخ پھیر کر جو ابر شبانہ میں چھپ گیا
جی میں پھرا کرے گی اسی چاند کی چمک
پھر پچھلے پہر آئنۂ اشک میں ظفرؔ
لرزاں رہی وہ سانولی صورت سویر تک
