شہر دل بھی سرائے فانی ہے
شہر دل بھی سرائے فانی ہے
یہ نشانی عجب نشانی ہے
زندگی تم یہیں کہیں رہنا
آج کی رات موت آنی ہے
خودکشی کر کے دل اداس ہوا
اس ندی میں ذرا سا پانی ہے
میرے اندر یہ پیڑ پودے ہیں
اور باہر کی رت خزانی ہے
موت کی روح تک پہنچنا ہے
جان ایسے نہیں گنوانی ہے
آ لگا تیر ایک سینہ پر
ہم نے پوچھا تھا بھائی پانی ہے
