शिकस्त-ए-रूह से पहले सहर नहीं होती
शिकस्त-ए-रूह से पहले सहर नहीं होती
तमाम उम्र शब-ए-ग़म बसर नहीं होती
हुजूम-ए-यास के मारे हुए किधर जाएँ
हर एक राह तिरी रहगुज़र नहीं होती
ब-हर-मक़ाम वो रहते हैं बा-ख़बर हम से
और इस तरह कि हमें भी ख़बर नहीं होती
कभी असर ब-लिहाज़-ए-दुआ नहीं रहता
कभी दुआ ही ब-क़द्र-ए-असर नहीं होती
ये इंक़िलाब-ए-ज़माना कि दम-ब-दम पैदा
ये ज़िंदगी कि इधर से उधर नहीं होती
तुलू-ए-सुब्ह की उम्मीद ने हमें 'इशरत'
वो रात दी जो किसी से बसर नहीं होती
