siyāh raat ke māthe pe ḳhaak maltā huā
ajiib chāñd hai dikhtā nahīñ hai Dhaltā huā
mirā bhī dukh to hai aanis tumhāre dukh kā rafīq
so aa rahā huuñ usī rāste pe chaltā huā
ye dekhiye ki havāoñ pe kab dharā jā.ūñ
charāġh se to nikālā gayā huuñ jaltā huā
use bhī yaad to hogī vo rail kī siiTī
hameñ to yaad rahegā vo haath maltā huā

so aa raha hun usi raste pe chalta hua
ye dekhiye ki hawaon pe kab dhara jaun
charagh se to nikala gaya hun jalta hua
use bhi yaad to hogi wo rail ki siTi
hamein to yaad rahega wo hath malta hua
