tujhe ai dost mirā tarjumān honā hai
tire hī lab se mirā ġham bayān honā hai
mujhe to 'ishq hī karnā thā 'ishq kartā rahā
kahāñ ḳhabar thī koī imtihān honā hai
hatāsh kis liye hotā hai tū mire shā'ir
tire vujūd ko kal dāstān honā hai
jahāñ pe āḳhirī sāñseñ ginīñ thiiñ lailā ne
vahīñ pe qais kā bhī imtihān honā hai
tujhe ai dost mera tarjuman hona hai
tere hi lab se mera gham bayan hona hai
mujhe to 'ishq hi karna tha 'ishq karta raha
kahan KHabar thi koi imtihan hona hai
hatash kis liye hota hai tu mere sha'ir
tere wujud ko kal dastan hona hai
jahan pe aaKHiri sansen ginin thin laila ne
wahin pe qais ka bhi imtihan hona hai
