ujle chehre ḳhvāboñ vaale
jaise kañval tālāboñ vaale
vahshī zulfeñ pāgal āñkheñ
mukhḌe zard gulāboñ vaale
sachche koh-e-qāf ke qisse
vo bachpan ke ḳhvāboñ vaale
ham se baḌh kar dīvāne the
agle log hijāboñ vaale
apnī bāteñ bahkī bahkī
un ke kaam hisāboñ vaale
dil ke taqāze sachche suthre
jhūTe bhed kitāboñ vaale
bekal ruuh bagūloñ jaisī
be-jāñ jism sarāboñ vaale
'āfrīñ' kab tak kahtī rahogī
kohna she'r nisāboñ vaale
