ye dil kambaḳht āvāra lage hai
suḳhan 'ājiz' kā kyoñ pyārā lage hai
ye koī dard kā maarā lage hai
khilā.e haiñ vo gul zaḳhmoñ ne us ke
hasīñ jin se chaman saarā lage hai
lage hai phuul sunñe meñ har ik sher
samajh lene pe añgāra lage hai
ye hai luuTā huā is sañg-dil kā
jo dekhe meñ bahut pyārā lage hai
tum āḳhir bad-gumāñ 'ājiz' se kyoñ ho
vo bechāra to bechāra lage hai
use har KHar-o-gul pyara lage hai

khilae hain wo gul zaKHmon ne us ke

ye hai luTa hua is sang-dil ka
jo dekhe mein bahut pyara lage hai
tum aaKHir bad-guman 'ajiz' se kyon ho
