wo mahir-e-zaban-o-bayan mahir-e-suKHan
vo māhir-e-zabān-o-bayāñ māhir-e-suḳhan
ġhālib ke ham-navā vo shanāsa-e-ilm-o-fan
tāsīr thī zabāñ meñ to guftār purkashish
ab bhī mujhe hai yaad vo lahje kā bāñkpan
aabid moallimī ko ibādat samajhte the
tahqīq thī amāma to tanqīd pairahan
ḳhud un hī ke jalā.e charāġhoñ ke nuur se
ilm-o-amal kī aaj bhī raushan hai anjuman
