dil judā.ī kī aag ne phūñkā
ashk pas tum bujhāne jaate ho
merā be-yār jīvnā ma.alūm
ai dam ab kyoñ tum āte-jāte ho
haath ko go chhuTā chale kyā ġham
dil se jaao to jānūñ jaate ho
kar 'alī' par nazar tarahhum kī
us pe kyā ḳhalq ko hañsāte ho
yaad us ki mujhe dilate ho
aag barut mein lagate ho
dil judai ki aag ne phunka
ashk pas tum bujhane jate ho
mera be-yar jiwna malum
ai dam ab kyon tum aate-jate ho
hath ko go chhuTa chale kya gham
dil se jao to jaanun jate ho
kar 'ali' par nazar tarahhum ki
us pe kya KHalq ko hansate ho
