yahi ek mashghala sham-o-sahar hai
yahī ik mashġhala shām-o-sahar hai
tasavvur hai tirā aur chashm-e-tar hai
use zikr-e-bahār-o-bāġh se kyā
qafas ko jo samajhtā ho ki ghar hai
shab-e-furqat hai apnī kaisī pinhāñ
ki jis kī shaam mahrūm-e-sahar hai
yahi ek mashghala sham-o-sahar hai
