ye karb ye tasalsul-e-be-KHwab shab to hai
ye karb ye tasalsul-e-be-ḳhvāb shab to hai
goyā tumhārī yaad kā koī sabab to hai
anjām jo bhī ho mirā is razm-gāh meñ
mansūb tere naam se jashn-e-tarab to hai
sarmāya-e-hayāt mire paas kam nahīñ
zaḳhm-e-jigar fareb-e-nazar dard sab to hai
milne meñ uzr tarz-e-takallum bujhā bujhā
pahle na thī ye baat magar ḳhair ab to hai
ai bahr-e-imbisāt ki tū lā-zavāl hai
ab bhī tire qarīb koī tishna-lab to hai
