aur un ke sar qalam kar diye ga.e
aur jahāñ aag utrī thī
vahāñ ek ma.abad ta.amīr kar diyā gayā
aur aag phailtī rahī
chand logoñ ne phir dabī zabān se kahā
aag bhalā kis kī dost huī hai
aur un kī zabāneñ bhī kaaT dī ga.iiñ
aur un ke sar bhī qalam kar diye ga.e
aur aag phailtī rahī
zabāneñ kaTtī rahīñ
aur sar qalam hote rahe
yahāñ tak ki saarī vaadī ek ma.abad ban ga.ī
aur ma.abad khañDar ban gayā
aur vo jo ziyāda sochte the
vo sochte sochte aag kā rizq ban ga.e
aag bhalā kis kī dost huī hai

wahan ek mabad tamir kar diya gaya

zabanen kaTti rahin
