murda tafsīlāt kī zinda kahānī apne ḳhuuñ se likh ga.e
ham kyā kareñ gar apnā ḳhuuñ
kaale badbū-dār qātil zahr hī kī lahr thā
aur ye likheñ hamāre daur meñ
saat rangoñ kī dhanak
kaale kambal oḌhtī thī
ujle ujle chāvaloñ meñ sang-rezoñ kī baḌī bohtāt thī
aur hamāre pairahan aag se katre ga.e the
aur jo thā khaal ke andar pighal kar bah gayā thā
aur likheñ ye bhī ki ham to apnā hissa pā chuke
ab tumhāre vāste
saat rangoñ kī barahna qaus hai
is ko apne taur par jab kabhī tartīb denā ḳhuun ke ik rang ko
chhoḌ denā un ke naam
jin kī rag rag kaale badbū-dār qātil zahr se bezār thī
phir bhī use Dhone pe jo majbūr the
jin ko apne jism meñ jaise lahū kī surḳh dhaar
dekhne kā umr bhar armāñ rahā aur jo apne daur kī be-rangiyoñ
kī murda tafsīlāt kī zinda gavāhī dete dete so ga.e
