chaak kar Daalā hai
qasdan shāyad
dil-girafta huuñ ye sach hai

hai ye ek rasm-e-qadīm
ho vo andesha-e-fardā
ki ho fikr-e-imroz
raas ab aate nahīñ
tujh se vābasta mirī zaat hai ab
