kahīñ kisī chhoTe se shahr ke
kisī mahalle ke ek ghar meñ
hai ek laḌkī
jo apne kamre meñ apne bistar
pe leTī leTī take hī jaa.e hai
ghar kī chhat ko
soch rahī yā pūchh rahī yā batā rahī hai
chhatoñ ke nīche bhī dab ke kuchh log
mar chuke haiñ
kahin kisi chhoTe se shahr ke
kisi mahalle ke ek ghar mein
hai ek laDki
jo apne kamre mein apne bistar
pe leTi leTi take hi jae hai
ghar ki chhat ko
soch rahi ya puchh rahi ya bata rahi hai
chhaton ke niche bhi dab ke kuchh log
mar chuke hain
