āñkheñ yuuñ markūz huī haiñ jaise maiñ hī maiñ huuñ
mujh meñ lā-ta.adād fasāne aur ma.ānī haiñ
maiñ sad-hā asrār chhupā.e phirtā huuñ
maiñ ḳhush-qismat huuñ mere saath jahān-e-rañg-o-ra.anā.ī hai
aur darīcha-band nihāñ-ḳhānoñ se rūh-e-yazdāñ kī ḳhushbū uThtī hai

jo armān kisī ke dil meñ hai maiñ us kī ḳhushbū huuñ

Mist
āñkheñ yuuñ markūz huī haiñ jaise maiñ hī maiñ huuñ aur nahīñ hai koī
sachchī baat magar hai itnī

āñkheñ bol nahīñ saktī haiñ
aur badan bīnā.ī se mahrūm huā hai
lekin maiñ to ab tak ḳhvāb-zada tasvīreñ dekh rahā huuñ
aur samundar ke parbat par Thahrā jañgal
biite gītoñ se pur jañgal
azalī ḳhāmoshī ke haale meñ thar-thar kaañp rahā hai
sadiyāñ saaye shoḳh fasīleñ āmannā saddaqnā
ai-lo! sūraj chāñd sitāre dhartī ke siine par utre
merī rāhguzar par bikhre
halkī maddham aur musalsal harkat
manzil phuul kañval kā phuul adam ke bahr-e-be-pāyāñ meñ
tanhā jhūle
bāhar par markūz nigāhoñ se maḳhfī lafz-e-mutlaq
tanhā aur udaas kañval par jhilmil jhilmil phuuT bahā
mauhūm ridā-e-koh-o-dasht-o-daman
duniyā-e-man-o-tū par chhā.ī
phīkī phīkī ho kar phail ga.ī dhuul banī
apnā gāñv, gorī ke paañv tak dhundlā.e
phailī raushan aur nirālī dhund, aur dhund aur dhund
Bright, glowing, luminous
All eyes are drawn to me as if there is only me
In me are countless stories and meanings
I roam, hundreds of secrets hidden in my breast
I'm fortunate; the beautiful, vibrant world is with me
And from hidden windowless compartments, the Divine soul's
fragrance rises
Perfuming my cold sense of smell
and the place where my fate was written.
I am the fragrance of the desires of someone's heart.
When yearning's spreading song over earth and sky
reaches the beloved
Then I am not a voice any more
nor the desolate blood flowing in the veins
I become the absolute word.
All eyes are drawn towards me as if I am the only one, there is no one else
But the truth is merely this:
I'm an ocean; dead.
Emotion is a gentle breeze of loss
Eyes cannot speak
and my body deprived of sight;
but I am seeing dreamlike images
and the forest sitting on the crest of the ocean
filled with the songs of yesteryears
shivers uncontrollably in the circle of eternal silence
Centuries, shadows, barbed fences, total agreement.
Look! Sun, moon and sky descend to the earth's breast
scatter on my path
softly, slowly and perpetually
destination, flower, lotus flower
swing alone in the fathomless ocean of eternity
Outside, hidden from focused eyes, the absolute word
bursts forth with a twinkle, flowing over the lonely, sad lotus
a hazy mantle envelops mountains, valleys,
shades our world, yours and mine
diffuses, weakens and turns to dust
our village and even the feet of the maiden became muddied
as a bright, unique mist spreads, more mist...more..
