एक लड़की ने आईना देखा
आईने में खिले हुए थे फूल
आईने में चराग़ जलते थे
आईना एक रहगुज़र था जहाँ
ख़्वाब ख़्वाबों के साथ चलते थे
आईने में बना हुआ था बाग़
बाग़ में शाम होने वाली थी
(शाम के फैलते अंधेरे में
लड़कियाँ बाग़ में नहीं जातीं)
आईने में न था कोई दरिया
आईने में न था कोई जंगल
आईने में न था कोई सहरा
आईने में न था कोई बादल
आईने में बस इक समुंदर था
(लड़कियाँ जिस से डरती रहती हैं)
और समुंदर की नील-गूँ तह में
एक लड़की ने आईना देखा
आईने में खिले हुए थे फूल
आईने में चराग़ जलते थे
आईना एक रहगुज़र था जहाँ
ख़्वाब ख़्वाबों के साथ चलते थे
