ہندوستان میں اردو
دن دہاڑے لفظ کو بازار میں
قتل کر ڈالا گیا
یہ خبر تم نے سنی
یہ خبر میں نے سنی
اور سن کر چپ رہے
مرنے والے کا کوئی وارث نہ تھا
اس لیے حکام نے مقتول کی بے نام لاش
مردہ گھر کو بھیج دی
پھر خدا معلوم اس کا کیا ہوا
ایک دن کچھ سر پھرے
ڈھونڈھنے نکلے لغت کے مقبرے
تو اچانک ان کو یہ کتبہ ملا
سب سے پہلے لفظ تھا
