namak napaid hai nayab hai
umīdoñ ārzūoñ ḳhvāboñ ko mismār kartā sochtā huuñ maiñ
ye mere dast-o-bāzū haiñ
kisī tā'mīr se pahle huī taḳhrīb ke hāmil kabhī the jo
safar darpesh ye kaisā
kahāñ par aa gayā huuñ maiñ
makānoñ ke badan ko ruuh se mahrūm kartā huuñ
ye aa.heñ siskiyāñ chīḳheñ
khañDar par baal bikhrā.e
kahīñ dīvāngī kā raqs kartī haiñ
kahīñ par qahqahe bhī khankhanāte haiñ
ye taḳht-o-tāj kā nashsha
ḳhirad ko chhīn letā hai
ki jab bāzār-e-tāqat meñ manāt-o-lāt aur 'uzzā
badal kar māhiyat u’lu hubal kā vird karte haiñ
to arzānī lahū kī chhūne lagtī hai falak ko
ye nashsha joñk kī sūrat
re’āyā kī sadāoñ kā lahū piitā
badan se lipTā rahtā hai

namak laa.eñ kahāñ se ki
namak nāpaid hai nāyāb hai is qaht-sālī meñ
ijāra-dārī us kī taḳht-e-shāhī ke liye mahfūz hai ab
umidon aarzuon KHwabon ko mismar karta sochta hun main
ye mere dast-o-bazu hain
kisi ta'mir se pahle hui taKHrib ke hamil kabhi the jo
safar darpesh ye kaisa
kahan par aa gaya hun main
makanon ke badan ko ruh se mahrum karta hun
ye aahen siskiyan chiKHen
khanDar par baal bikhrae
kahin diwangi ka raqs karti hain
kahin par qahqahe bhi khankhanate hain
ye taKHt-o-taj ka nashsha
KHirad ko chhin leta hai
ki jab bazar-e-taqat mein manat-o-lat aur 'uzza
badal kar mahiyat u’lu hubal ka wird karte hain
to arzani lahu ki chhune lagti hai falak ko
ye nashsha jonk ki surat
re’aya ki sadaon ka lahu pita
badan se lipTa rahta hai
