    kisī hukm hai saarī havā.eñ

    hamesha chalne se pahle batā.eñ

    ki un samt kyā hai

    kidhar rahī haiñ

    havāoñ ko batānā ye bhī hogā

    chaleñgī ab to kyā raftār hogī

    havāoñ ko ye ijāzat nahīñ hai

    ki āñdhī ijāzat ab nahīñ hai

    hamārī ret sab ye fasīleñ

    ye kāġhaz ke mahal jo ban rahe haiñ

    hifāzat un karnā hai zarūrī

    aur āñdhī hai purānī in dushman

    ye sabhī jante haiñ

    kisī hukm hai dariyā lahreñ

    zarā ye sar-kashī kam kar leñ apnī had meñ Thahreñ

    ubharnā phir bikharnā aur bikhar kar phir ubharnā

    ġhalat hai ye un hañgāma karnā

    ye sab hai sirf vahshat alāmat

    baġhāvat alāmat

    baġhāvat to nahīñ bardāsht hogī

    ye vahshat to nahīñ bardāsht hogī

    agar lahroñ ko hai dariyā meñ rahnā

    to un ko hogā ab chup-chāp bahnā

    kisī hukm hai

    is gulistāñ meñ bas ik rañg ke phuul hoñge

    kuchh afsar hoñge jo ye tai kareñge

    gulistāñ kis tarah banñā hai kal

    yaqīnan phuul to yak-rañgīñ hoñge

    magar ye rañg hogā kitnā gahrā kitnā halkā

    ye afsar tai kareñge

    kisī ko ye koī kaise batā.e

    gulistāñ meñ kahīñ bhī phuul yak-rangīñ nahīñ hote

    kabhī ho nahīñ sakte

    ki har ik rañg meñ chhup kar bahut se rañg rahte haiñ

    jinhoñne bāġh-e-yakrangīñ banānā chāhe the

    un ko zarā dekho

    ki jab ik rañg meñ sau rañg zāhir ho ga.e haiñ to

    kitne pareshāñ haiñ kitne tañg rahte haiñ

    kisī ko ye koī kaise batā.e

    havā.eñ aur lahreñ kab kisī hukm suntī haiñ

    havā.eñ hākimoñ muTThiyoñ meñ hathkaḌī meñ

    qaid-ḳhānoñ meñ nahīñ ruktīñ

    ye lahreñ rokī jaatī haiñ

    to dariyā kitnā bhī ho pur-sukūñ betāb hotā hai

    aur is betābī aglā qadam sailāb hotā hai

    kisi ka hukm hai sari hawaen

    hamesha chalne se pahle bataen

    ki un ki samt kya hai

    kidhar ja rahi hain

    hawaon ko batana ye bhi hoga

    chalengi ab to kya raftar hogi

    hawaon ko ye ijazat nahin hai

    ki aandhi ki ijazat ab nahin hai

    hamari ret ki sab ye fasilen

    ye kaghaz ke mahal jo ban rahe hain

    hifazat un ki karna hai zaruri

    aur aandhi hai purani in ki dushman

    ye sabhi jante hain

    kisi ka hukm hai dariya ki lahren

    zara ye sar-kashi kam kar len apni had mein Thahren

    ubharna phir bikharna aur bikhar kar phir ubharna

    ghalat hai ye un ka hangama karna

    ye sab hai sirf wahshat ki alamat

    baghawat ki alamat

    baghawat to nahin bardasht hogi

    ye wahshat to nahin bardasht hogi

    agar lahron ko hai dariya mein rahna

    to un ko hoga ab chup-chap bahna

    kisi ka hukm hai

    is gulistan mein bas ek rang ke hi phul honge

    kuchh afsar honge jo ye tai karenge

    gulistan kis tarah banna hai kal ka

    yaqinan phul to yak-rangin honge

    magar ye rang hoga kitna gahra kitna halka

    ye afsar tai karenge

    kisi ko ye koi kaise batae

    gulistan mein kahin bhi phul yak-rangin nahin hote

    kabhi ho hi nahin sakte

    ki har ek rang mein chhup kar bahut se rang rahte hain

    jinhonne bagh-e-yakrangin banana chahe the

    un ko zara dekho

    ki jab ek rang mein sau rang zahir ho gae hain to

    kitne pareshan hain kitne tang rahte hain

    kisi ko ye koi kaise batae

    hawaen aur lahren kab kisi ka hukm sunti hain

    hawaen hakimon ki muTThiyon mein hathkaDi mein

    qaid-KHanon mein nahin ruktin

    ye lahren roki jati hain

    to dariya kitna bhi ho pur-sukun betab hota hai

    aur is betabi ka agla qadam sailab hota hai
