کتنے سنسان ہیں
کتنے ویران ہیں
چاند سورج گھٹا
پھول باد صبا
کوئی بھٹکی صدا
نغمگی اور نوا
یا کوئی نقش پا
دور تک کچھ نہیں

تا بہ حد نظر
کوئی سایہ نہیں
ایسا لگتا ہے
صدیوں سے اس شہر میں
اک مسافر بھی
بھولے سے آیا نہیں
