raste mein sham ka muqaddar hona
us ke lahje meñ shaam ho rahī thī
aur rāste rāstoñ ko chhoḌte hue
kisī aur rāste par jā rahe the
us kā badan ḳhud se alag hone ke liye
apne hī badan se pūchh rahā thā
kuñvāre rahne kī tapasyā akārat ga.ī
kisī chāhne vaale ko
us ne ek bosa bhī nahīñ diyā
us kī miTTī ne kisī aur miTTī ko chhuā hī nahīñ
sharī.at kī āmariyyat ko
ḳhud us ne hī dāvat dī thī
varna ḳhudā se kisī ġhalat ko
ġhalat chhūne kī baat to kabhī huī hī nahīñ thī
aur koī ham se bhuul ke
hamārī āḳhirī ḳhvāhish bhī na pūchhe
aisā to kabhī huā hī nahīñ
Dūbte hue jahāz meñ bhāgne vaale
āḳhirī chūhe ko bhī to
kisī ne bhī nahīñ dekhā
sivā.e us ke ki
Dubone vaale paanī ne
ḳhud ko dekhā
yā Dūbne vaale ko dekhā
mohabbat jin rañgoñ se
banī huī kahānī thī
us ke kisī bhī kirdār ko
is ne kabhī bhūle se bhī paas na aane diyā
ek ThanDī jāmid bisāt par dauḌtī huī
māyūsī ko
parinda banñe kī ḳhvāhish to zarūr rahī hogī
magar kyā koī ye dekh saktā hai ki
kisī botal se kaag arne ke manzar meñ
botal ke bātin par kyā guzartī hai
kisī ġhalat muñh se nikle hue lafz se
zindagī kī āb-o-havā par kyā guzartī hai
duniyā meñ hone vaale kisī bhī zulm ne
bas misāl hī to qaa.em kī
ek tārīḳh hī to banā.ī
haath meñ uThā.e hue ek patthar se
an-ginat hathiyāroñ tak
darmiyān meñ
zamāne to an-ginat rahe hoñge
yā tārīḳh to ek hī thī
kisī ġhalat ko sahī meñ badalne kī ḳhvāhish
duniyā kā nizām badal saktī to
aaj tak ham ġhalat ḳhvāb
na dekh rahe hote
phir ye azaab kyā hai ki
ham ek puurī zindagī
ġhalat ḳhvāboñ ke havāle karte hue
ḳhud ḳhvāb ho jaa.eñ
ye aur baat ki
pur-asrār ġhaib meñ
yaqīn na rakhne vaale ko bhī
kisī bhī ġhaib se
kuchh paane yā madad lene kī
ḳhvāhish to hotī hai
aur ḳhvāhish kā kyā hai
ḳhvāhish agar zamīn par reñgne vaalī
chyūñTī bhī ho to
vo hāthī ko halāk kar saktī hai
ek chyūñTī hāthī ko
is liye halāk kar detī hai ki
use is ke sar tak
pahanñe kī raah kā gyaan
aadmī se kahīñ zyāda hotā hai
afsos ki chyūñTī se zyāda
gyaan vaalā aadmī to
zamīn par paidā hī nahīñ huā
afsos pahāḌ kī chaḌhā.ī chaḌhne
aur ūñchī choTiyoñ ko
sar karne vāloñ meñ se
koī ek bhī aisā nahīñ huā
jo pahle zindagī naam ke hāthī ke sarkī
chaḌhā.ī chaḌhtā yā is ke sar ko
sar kar chukā hotā
aadmī ne ghar banāyā
is meñ rahne ke liye
magar vo us meñ kabhī rahā is liye nahīñ ki
rū-e-zamīn par
kisī bhī ghar kā bātin nahīñ ban sakā
ek puurī duniyā kā zāhir to
hamārī nazar meñ rakh diyā gayā
magar bātin se banī huī
koī duniyā to banī hī nahīñ
to ham kyā dekhte
yā dikhāne vāloñ se ham kyā kahte
yā is se kyā kahte
jis ke lahje meñ shaam hone se pahle
din kī raushnī kī
koī bisāt to rahī hogī
palaT ke kuchh dekhne kī adā bhī
nahīñ ma.alūm thī
varna koī kah saktā hai ki
use asbāb se bharī huī duniyā se
kuchh mayassar aayā
nahīñ kuchh bhī to nahīñ
yā jo duniyā
asbāb se bharī huī dikhā.ī ga.ī
vo ḳhud apnī jagah thī bhī yā nahīñ
aur is kī koī bhī shai
apnī jagah thī bhī yā nahīñ
us ke lahje mein sham ho rahi thi
aur raste raston ko chhoDte hue
kisi aur raste par ja rahe the
us ka badan KHud se alag hone ke liye
apne hi badan se puchh raha tha
kunware rahne ki tapasya akarat gai
kisi chahne wale ko
us ne ek bosa bhi nahin diya

warna KHuda se kisi ghalat ko
ghalat chhune ki baat to kabhi hui hi nahin thi
aur koi hum se bhul ke
hamari aaKHiri KHwahish bhi na puchhe
aisa to kabhi hua hi nahin
Dubte hue jahaz mein bhagne wale
aaKHiri chuhe ko bhi to
kisi ne bhi nahin dekha
siwae us ke ki
Dubone wale pani ne
KHud ko dekha
ya Dubne wale ko dekha
mohabbat jin rangon se
bani hui kahani thi
us ke kisi bhi kirdar ko
is ne kabhi bhule se bhi pas na aane diya

magar wo us mein kabhi raha is liye nahin ki
ru-e-zamin par
kisi bhi ghar ka baatin nahin ban saka
ek puri duniya ka zahir to
hamari nazar mein rakh diya gaya
magar baatin se bani hui
koi duniya to bani hi nahin
to hum kya dekhte
ya dikhane walon se hum kya kahte
ya is se kya kahte
jis ke lahje mein sham hone se pahle
din ki raushni ki
koi bisat to rahi hogi
palaT ke kuchh dekhne ki ada bhi
nahin malum thi
warna koi kah sakta hai ki
use asbab se bhari hui duniya se
kuchh mayassar aaya
nahin kuchh bhi to nahin
ya jo duniya
asbab se bhari hui dikhai gai
wo KHud apni jagah thi bhi ya nahin
aur is ki koi bhi shai
apni jagah thi bhi ya nahin
