anokhe nuqūsh meñ ubhre uḌte hue
yā phir itne gambhīr
jaise jahāzoñ ke lañgar
in meñ lahreñ hotī haiñ
taḌaptī bechain tūfānī
aur aisī bhī
jin par sukūn ke saa.e
chhā.e hue hote haiñ
lekin un ke nīche
pahāḌī jharnoñ kī tezī, tilmilāhaT
justujū kī lahak
aarzū kī pāgal mahak
chhupī hotī hai
aur jab ka.ī rañg
un kī be-shumār tarañgeñ
tarah tarah kī chhoTī baḌī
chhupī aur zāhir lahreñ
miltī ek dūsre se Takrātī haiñ
tab na.e hairat-nāk hayūle
aadhe puure bal khāte dā.ere
mauhūm lakīreñ
lā-javāb shakleñ
aur aise paikar jo kisī dūsrī chiiz kī tarah nahīñ hote
lekin jo ḳhud apnī alag anuup hastī meñ
na.ī-navelī dulhan
nau-zā.ida bachche kī tarah
achchhe lagte haiñ
vajūd meñ aa jaate haiñ
jhilmilāte dhabboñ kā ye sho.ala
insānī uñgliyoñ zehn aur ruuh kā ye karishma
zabān kā ye jauhrī dhamāka
zindagī ko par lagā detā hai
use itnā ūñchā uḌā le jaatā hai
jahāñ se is dhartī
aur is par basne vāloñ ko
ham yuuñ dekhte haiñ
jaise tītof ne use dekhā thā
aur us kī sab achchhā.iyoñ
ḳhūbsūrtiyoñ
is kī ḳhushbuoñ
latāfatoñ rañgīniyoñ kā partav
hamārī rūhoñ par bhī paḌtā hai
ham badal jaate haiñ
aisā hī ek chhitr
tum ko ma.alūm nahīñ
kin āsmānī rañgoñ se khīñchā
apsarāoñ kī na jaane kaisī jaadū mudrāoñ se bharā
sovarg ke kaun se madhur rāgoñ meñ Dhālā
aur chupke se
man ke garm tapte āñgan meñ rakh diyā
daf.atan hazāroñ bahāreñ jaag paḌīñ
gulābī pañkhuḌiyāñ barasne lagīñ
mahaktī havāoñ se
halkī halkī ThanDī narmiyāñ Tapak paḌīñ
aur zindagī kī ḳhālī maañg
sindōr se bhar ga.ii!

un ki be-shumar tarangen
tarah tarah ki chhoTi baDi
chhupi aur zahir lahren
milti ek dusre se Takraati hain
tab nae hairat-nak hayule
aadhe pure bal khate daere
mauhum lakiren
la-jawab shaklen
aur aise paikar jo kisi dusri chiz ki tarah nahin hote
lekin jo KHud apni alag anup hasti mein
nai-naweli dulhan
nau-zaida bachche ki tarah
achchhe lagte hain
wajud mein aa jate hain
jhilmilate dhabbon ka ye shoala
insani ungliyon zehn aur ruh ka ye karishma
zaban ka ye jauhri dhamaka
zindagi ko par laga deta hai
use itna uncha uDa le jata hai
jahan se is dharti
aur is par basne walon ko
hum yun dekhte hain
jaise titof ne use dekha tha
aur us ki sab achchhaiyon

dafatan hazaron bahaaren jag paDin
gulabi pankhuDiyan barasne lagin
mahakti hawaon se
halki halki ThanDi narmiyan Tapak paDin
aur zindagi ki KHali mang
sindoor se bhar gai!
