ufuq ke kināre se ik raushnī kā pharerā sā lapkā
kahīñ duur se terī āvāz aa.ī
to vahshat ke ma.anī badalne lage aur
ka.ī be-zabāñ hairateñ apne hone ke ehsās se
chīḳh uTThīñ yakāyak
magar aisī chīḳheñ ki jin ke batn meñ
na vahshat na dahshat
koī sarḳhushī thī
sarāsīmgī thī
zamīñ hairatī thī ki ye kaisī chīḳheñ
fazāoñ meñ ghultī chalī jā rahī haiñ
ḳhushī aur ġhamī ke ma.ānī ko yaksar badaltā huā raushnī kā pharerā
havā ke dabāo se lahrā rahā hai
ajab tīrgī thī
ajab raushnī thī
ajab shor thā aur
ajab ḳhāmushī thī
jo hone kī tah se na hone ke bhedoñ ko sochoñ ke sāhil talak lā rahī thī
ghani tirgi thi

kahin dur se teri aawaz aai
to wahshat ke mani badalne lage aur
kai be-zaban hairaten apne hone ke ehsas se
chiKH uTThin yakayak
magar aisi chiKHen ki jin ke batn mein
na wahshat na dahshat
koi sarKHushi thi
sarasimgi thi
zamin hairati thi ki ye kaisi chiKHen
fazaon mein ghulti chali ja rahi hain
KHushi aur ghami ke maani ko yaksar badalta hua raushni ka pharera
hawa ke dabao se lahra raha hai

ajab shor tha aur
ajab KHamushi thi
jo hone ki tah se na hone ke bhedon ko sochon ke sahil talak la rahi thi
