An HR specialist by profession, Aditya Pant is an amateur poet who likes to call himself a ‘serious dabbler’ in poetry. He writes Urdu poetry under the ‘takhallus’ of ‘Naaqid’. Though he has experimented with poetry in Hindi also, his more serious poetic journey started in early nineties with the fascination for the Urdu language and continues to date in Urdu through alternating phases of prolificacy and inactivity.

His poetry covers a variety of themes, but he feels most at home with subjects reflecting on the external world. Ghazal is his favorite genre, although he prefers to explore beyond traditional themes that dominate this genre. His collection of poetry, titled Khwaahish-e-Parwaaz, was published in 2014.
