hai pur-raunaq magar viran si mahsus hoti hai

shahr-bhar mein mujhe aise na ghumaya jata

kabhi zamin kabhi aasman banata hun

umid-war to barg-o-samar ke hum bhi hain

jagmagate shahr ki tah jagmagati ret hai

humne qismat se jo ye waqt guzara raushan

yaad-e-yaran ko kaf-e-dil mein chubhote hue hum
