bin hawa ke hathon mein hai lahre jadu wale hain

kahne ko sham-e-bazm-e-zaman-o-makan hun main

phul khile hain likha hua hai toDo mat

ainak ke donon shishe hi aTe hue the dhul mein

akasr raat gae tak main chaukhaT par baiTha rahta hun

main bhi kab se chup baiTha hun wo bhi kab se chup baiThi hai

ghubar-o-gard ne samjha hai rahnuma mujhko

lambi raat se jab mili uski zulf-e-daraaz

yun hua hai chaak malbus-e-yaqin silta nahin

hai nur-e-KHuda bhi yahan irfan-e-KHuda bhi

dil hai viran bayaban ki tarah

hum ki jo baiThe hue hain apne sar pakDe hue

kaun hai ye matl-e-taKHill par mahtab sa

sawan aaya chhane lage ghor ghan ghor baadal

arz-e-muddaa karte kyun nahin kiya humne
