ubhra jo chand unghti parchhaiyan milin

dil to barsata hai har roz hi gham ke sawan

ek dagh-e-tamanna hai to ek zaKHm-e-wafa hai

ye ittifaq tha hum aa gae ujale mein

koi bhi lamha ho ek aag laga jati hai

sharmila suraj bhi kitna pagal hota jata hai

chand ke ruKH pe jo zaKHmon ka na ghaza hota

ashk hun aah hun aatish hun ki aKHgar dekho

sharar ko aab sahar ko sahab kah dete

soz-e-gham jab bhi had se siwa ho gaya

kahna hai jo bhi kah do yahin mere kan mein

dur tak rengte qadmon ke nishan pae hain

shab ne kya khol diye apne mahakte gesu
