zaruraton ki hamahami mein jo rah chalte bhi Tokti hai wo shairi hai

qadmon se itna dur kinara kabhi na tha

aasman par kale baadal chha gae

chup the jo but sawal ba-lab bolne lage

kahin subh-o-sham ke darmiyan kahin mah-o-sal ke darmiyan

gaurayyon ne jashn manaya mere aangan barish ka

nishan-e-zaKHm pe nishtar-zani jo hone lagi

gum hue jate hain dhaDkan ke nishan ham-nafaso

damak uThi hai faza mahtab-e-KHwab ke sath
