ek garm aah ki to hazaron ke ghar jale

dukh ji ke pasand ho gaya hai ghaalib

yaran-e-nabi se rakh tawalla billah

us rishte mein lakh tar hun balki siwa

yaran-e-nabi mein thi laDai kis mein

mushkil hai zi-bas kalam mera ai dil

jin logon ko hai mujhse adawat gahri

har chand ki dosti mein kaamil hona

yaran-e-rasul yani ashab-e-kebar

saman KHur-o-KHwab kahan se laun

shab zulf-o-ruKH-e-araq-fashan ka gham tha

ashab ko jo ki na-saza kahte hain

a kasrat-e-fahm-e-be-shumar andesha

aatish-bazi hai jaise shughl atfal

hum garche bane salam karne wale

dil saKHt nazand ho gaya hai goya

ruqe ka jawab kyon na bheja tumne

dekh wo barq-e-tabassum bas ki dil betab hai

kahte hain ki ab wo mardum-azar nahin

bheji hai jo mujhko shah-e-jamjah ne dal

haq shah ki baqa se KHalq ko shad kare

un sem ke bijon ko koi kya jaane

be-girya kamal-e-tar-jabini hai mujhe

gar jauhar-imtiyaz hota hum mein

hai KHalq hasad qimash laDne ke liye

hain shah mein sifat-e-zul-jalal baham

ai munshi-e-KHira sar suKHan-saz na ho

gulKHan sharar ehtimam bistar hai aaj

ai raushni dida shahabudin KHan

دل تھا کہ جو جان درد تمہید سہی

بعد از اتمام بزم عید اطفال

سامان ہزار جستجو یعنی دل

دل سوز جنوں سے جلوہ منظر ہے آج

اے کاش بتاں کا خنجر سینہ شگاف
