ai sanam wasl ki tadbiron se kya hota hai

misal-e-tar-e-nazar kya nazar nahin aata

kis tarah milen koi bahana nahin milta

na rahe nama o paigham ke lane wale

wahshat mein bhi ruKH jaanib-e-sahra na karenge

asar zulf ka barmala ho gaya

dekhi jo zulf-e-yar tabiat sambhal gai

be-bulae hue jaana mujhe manzur nahin

parda ulaT ke usne jo chehra dikha diya

chand sa chehra jo us ka aashkara ho gaya

wo shah-e-husn jo be-misl hai hasinon mein

zer-e-zamin hun tishna-e-didar-e-yar ka

lab-e-rangin se agar tu guhar-afshan hota

matlab na kabe se na irada kanisht ka

na koi un ke siwa aur jaan-e-jaan dekha

qamar ki wo KHurshid taswir hai

rang se pairahan-e-sada hinai ho jae

main agar rone lagun rutba-e-wala baDh jae

jab ayan subh ko wo nur-e-mujassam ho jae

shama bhi is safa se jalti hai

lakh parde se ruKH-e-anwar ayan ho jaega
