kabhi uruj kabhi wo zawal deta hai

ghar ke fard apne ghar ko bhul gae

bahaar ban ke jab se wo mere jahan pe chhae hain

zindagi ka ye ajab dastur hai

KHud ko dekhun ki main jahan dekhun

hum samajhte hain jise apna jahan kuchh aur hai

hisar-e-jism se aazad hone wala hun

dhup kyunkar na ho itab-zada

sang ho ya aaina sab ki kahani ek hai

gher kar jurat-e-inkar talak le aae

mujhko shahi nahin taufiq-e-faqirana de

koi shoala hai ki shabnam nahin dekha jata

jo ab jawan hai wo azm-e-jawan rahe na rahe
