Muhammad Yunus was born on 15 February 1926, in Muradabad. During his school days he was very fond of going to mushairas and mehfils. This instilled a sense of poetry within him. He was the disciple of Qamar Muradabadi. After partition, he moved to Pakistan and continued to work as an employ of Karachi port trust for fifteen years. He joined Radio Pakistan later, where he was a script writer and continued to work there till his last days. In addition to ghazals, he also composed poems for children and nasri nazms. His pen name was Raees Farogh. Raat Bohot Hawa Chali and Suraj Chand Sitarey are collections of his poetry. He died on 15 August 1982 in Karachi.
