aag barsā.e ḳhushī se koī sūraj se kaho
maiñ koī mom nahīñ huuñ ki pighal jā.ūñgā
tell the sun to radiate, as brightly as it please

maiñ abhī us ke tasavvur meñ magan huuñ 'rāshid'
vo bhī aa jaa.e to kah do abhī bāhar Thahre
Raashid in my thoughts does she so deeply reside
even if she were to arrive tell her to wait outside
