Syed Safi Hassan is a man from the field of science but he has a keen interest in literature as well. He is a poet himself and writes under the pen name, Safii. He has done his Masters in Chemistry (from Punjab) and accomplished Masters in Electronics and Telecommunication from Liverpool. He was also a research scholar in physical petrology at Birmingham University. His additional accomplishments were his research fellowship in the Ministry of Defense of United Kingdom, from 1974 to 1980, a senior research fellowship from Birmingham University during the period 1980 - 1985 and his participation in projects as a financial consultant.
