baaton baaton mein hi unwan badal jate hain

bite waqt ka chehra DhunDhta rahta hai

shahr bezar rahguzar tanha

kisi sukhe hue shajar sa hun

nam aankhon mein kya kar lega ghussa dekhenge

zaKHm mahsus na ho nind zara aane do

tere ghurur mere zabt ka sawal raha

us gali tak saDak rahi hogi

jis bhi jagah dekhi usne apni taswir haTa li thi

wahi nibah ke kanTe wahi gulab ke phul

zaif ruh hui par badan Dhala ki nahin

rahi hai yun hi nadamat mujhe muqaddar se

ab kahan dard jism-o-jaan mein hai

tamam dard kisi lai mein gungunate hue

tamam ret pe bikhra hai tan udasi ka

ye saneha hai bhala aur kis ke sar jaana

aadamiyyat ka din mere KHwab

sahar na hath lagi sau sitare chhu aae

tilism-e-saya-e-hasrat faza-e-hairani
