chamakti hui dhup tezi se nikli

kyun ai gham-e-firaq ye kya baat ho gai

ab tak sharik-e-mahfil-e-aghyar kaun hai

jaan dena bas ek ziyan ka sauda tha

raat ajab aaseb-zada sa mausam tha

ruk ja hujum-e-gul ki abhi hausla nahin

har aan sitam Dhae hai kya jaaniye kya ho

gardish-e-mina-o-jam dekhiye kab tak rahe

ek tera gham jis ko rah-e-motabar jaanen

surat-e-dilkashi rahi KHwahish-e-zindagi rahi

safar KHud-raftagi ka bhi ajab andaz ka tha
